June 22-23: Today is our first leg of our travel abroad and a 6:30 pm flight to Barcelona by way of Brussels via Jet Airways. The queue at Jet Airways was insane - people almost storming the barrier line clamoring to get on the plane. Eventually it was sorted out and finally on to the plane. Jet Airways is amazing - great staff, very attentive. Airbus A330 was configure d as 2-4-2 so having two seats by ourselves made it really comfortable. As soon as the plane was up drinks were served. Dinner followed shortly after - great Indian food - curry, rice, veggies, naan - who could ask for more. The in-flight entertainment was great. We both watched an interesting video on archeological information on Petra (a place we visited five years ago). Joani watched every Bollywood movie trailer, and Mark opted for more of a smorgasbord of videos. Since it was a night flight, Joani has an interesting way to block out light and sounds - even though the plane was really dark.
Our long 5-hour layover in the Brussels airport was made more palatable by having a breakfast meal including wine (ok, it's 10:30am) - we're on vacation. No Begian Waffles for us, but we did get chocolate. We're lounging at the airport in preparation for a 2-hour flight on Brussels Airlines to Barcelona. We never realized it but because Brussels is so centrally located there are planes leaving every couple of minutes for all over Europe, Africa, and Asia. The airport has major new terminals and they even provide foosball tables so people can get their soccer fix. The graphic on the coke machine was a pisser!
Pisser! Ha!
